AUDITOR GENERAL’S REPORT ON THE 2013 PUBLIC ACCOUNTS OF RWANDA TABLED IN PARLIAMENT

The Auditor General of Rwanda wishes to inform the general public that the Audited Report on the State consolidated financial statements for the Year ended 30th June, 2013 has been submitted and tabled in Parliament on the 26th May, 2014.
Article 183 of the 2003 Constitution of the Republic of Rwanda as amended to date empowers the Auditor General to audit the state finances and property.
Article 184 paragraph 1 of the 2003 Constitution of the Republic of Rwanda as amended to date states that subject to the provisions of Article 79 of the Constitution, the Office of the Auditor General of State Finances shall submit each year to both Chambers of Parliament in joint session prior to the commencement of the session devoted to the examination of the budget of the following year, a complete report on the State consolidated financial statements of the previous year. This report must indicate the manner in which the budget was utilized, unnecessary expenses which were incurred or expenses which were contrary to the law and whether there was misappropriation or general squandering of public funds.
