The Deputy Auditor General
Mr. Patrick HABIMANA was appointed Deputy Auditor General from 13th January 2012. He is the second Deputy Auditor General of Office of the Auditor General since its establishment in 1998. Patrick was the Director of Local Administration- Office of the Auditor General before he was appointed the Deputy Auditor General.
He joined the Office of the Auditor General in 2006. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Patrick is a member of ICPAR since 2012. He is the current chairperson of the audit and risk committee of ICPAR. He has experience in auditing for over 8 years. He has audited various Public Enterprises, Ministries, government projects and Districts. He has supervised various regularity audits.
He obtained a bachelors degree (Hons) in commerce, accounting option from Makerere University Kampala in 2004. In 2010, he obtained Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) certificate from United Kingdom. In 2013, he participated in a 4 months International Auditor Fellowship Program organized by the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO).
As the Deputy Auditor General, he assists the Auditor General in executing the constitutional mandate of auditing the state finances and property, provide advice in connection with the audit work and also perform other duties falling within the mission of the Office as may be assigned by the Auditor General.
